Used this tip on a Weller WSD-51. Had no problems with SOIC and throughole components, but haven't used it for really small SMT stuff yet.
I don't why I had to give 5 stars to ratings that called this soldering tip a toy. as this tip is NOT 'fun' doesn't hold any 'educational value.' LOL This tip is by far my tip of choice. It works perfectly for anything that I've used it for due to its fine precision tapering.****Amazon - this is NOT a toy nor suitable for children. Please fix****
This is a good tip and typical of Weller quality. It does not last as long as my Hakko tips but better than Radio Shack, Wally World etc.
